Agrabla Kristnasko

Mi ne foriris dum Kristnasko ĉi-jare. Mi anstataŭe devis skribi mian tezon. Mi malĝojis iomete, sed estis bone skribi pli de mia tezo. Kutime mi iru Kristnaske al la domo de miaj gepatroj aŭ al la domo de la patrino de mia fianĉo. Mi ŝatis resti hejme ĉar estis malpli maltrankvilige.

Alia novaĵo, mia fratino naskis beban knabinon je novembro. La bebino nomiĝas 'Chi'. Mi nur renkontis ŝin unufoje. Mi esperas, ke mi povos renkonti ŝin pli ofte dum la nova jaro. La limdato de mia tezo estas la 16-a februaro. Mi havos pli tempon post tiam.

A Pleasant Christmas

I didn't go away for Christmas this year. I had to write my thesis instead. It made me a bit sad, but I had to write more of my thesis. Usually I go to my parent's house or the home of my fiance's mother for Christmas. I liked staying home because it was less stressful!

In other news, my sister had a baby girl in November. The baby's name is 'Chi'. I have only met her once. I hope that I will see her more often in the new year. The deadline of my thesis is February 16. I will have more time after that!

Mi ne forgesis ĉi tiun blogon!

Mi ne forgesis ĉi tiun blogon! Mi ne skribis ĉi tien ĉar mi estas tro okupata. Kvankam mi ankoraŭ lernas Esperanton per la 'Lernu' forumo (mi legis ĝin en la Angla), la lecionoj en LiveMocha, kaj per miaj libroj.

Post unu jaro, ke mi lernis Esperanton mi estas ankoraŭ komencanto. Mi estas malfeliĉa pri tio.

Feliĉe, mia tezo fartas bone. Mi esperas, ke mi netigos ĝin en novembro. Tiam mi lernos Esperanton serioze kaj, mi esperas, rapide!


I haven't forgotten this blog!

I haven't forgotten this blog! I haven't written in it because I am very busy. However, I am still learning Esperanto through the 'Lernu' forum (I read it in English), the lessons on LiveMocha, and through my books.

After one year of learning Esperanto I am still a beginner. I am not happy about that.

Happily my thesis goes well. I hope that I will finish it in November. Then I will learn Esperanto earnestly and, I hope, quickly!

Mi havas migreno.

La kapo doloras min. Ĉi tiu estas la dua migreno, kiun mi havis dum tri tagoj. Mi havos aspirinon, paracetomolon kaj kafeinon, ĉar mi legis ke ilin ili helpos. Ĉu vi scias aliajn metodojn por resanigi resaniĝi de migrenoj?



Bedaŭrinde, pro la migreno, mia Esperanto estas malbona. La cerbo ne pensas kiam ĝin dolariĝas ĝi doloras!

Mi estas tre okupita.

Mi bedaŭras, ke mi ne skribis en la blogo dum longa tempo. Mi estas tre okupita kun mia doktoreca tezo. Mi esperas ke mi baldaŭ finos ĝin. Mi volas reskribi ĉi-tie!

Mi estas membro de reta 'vaporpunka' forumo. Hieraŭ, mi trovis esperantista grupo tie! Mi aliĝis kaj enskribis kelkajn mesaĝojn en la diskutejo. Tie nun estas nur kvar membroj, sed ni espere allogos novajn esperantistojn.

Miaj novaj libroj alvenis!

La libroj mi aĉetis de UEA alvenis. Mi tre ŝatas ilin. Mi scias, ke la vortaro estas bona ĉar ĝi havas malĝentilajn (insultajn?) vortojn! Ili estis la unuaj vortoj, pro kiuj mi traserĉis kiujn mi serĉis,. ;-)

'Esti familiara en Esperanto' estas tre utila libro. Mi havas multajn Esperantajn librojn legi, sed ĉi-tiu libro nun estas ĉe la supro de mia listo.

Hieraŭ mia fianĉo aĉetis iPodan Tuŝon por mi. Mi jam elŝutis du aplikojn por helpi min lerni Esperanton. Mi havas Esperantan/la anglan vortaran aplikon kaj lernkartan aplikon. La lernkarta apliko ne estas en Esperanto, sed oni povas elŝuti Esperantajn vortajn listojn de la programa retpaĝo. Mi ankaŭ povas fari miajn proprajn kartojn! (La hiperligilo al lernkarta retpaĝo estas ĉi tie).

Mi deziras ke mi havis havu pli da tempo por lerni Esperanton kun per ĉiuj ĉi tiuj novaj ludiloj!

My new books have arrived!

The books I bought from the UEA have arrived! I like them a lot. I know that the dictionary is good because it has swear words! They were the first words I looked for. ;-)

'Being Colloquial in Esperanto' is a very useful book. I have many Esperanto books to read, but this book is now at the top of my list.

Yesterday my fiance bought me an iPod Touch. I have already downloaded two apps to help me learn Esperanto. I have an Esperanto/English dictionary app and a flashcard app. The flashcard app isn't in Esperanto, but one can download Esperanto word-lists from the program webpage. I can also make my own flashcards! (The hyperlink to the flashcard webpage is here).

I wish I had more time to learn Esperanto with all these new toys!

Naskiĝtagoj kaj Pasko.

La Paska-dimanĉo estos morgaŭ. Morgaŭ ankaŭ estos mia naskiĝtago! Mi havos 36 (tridek ses) jarojn. La naskiĝtago de mia fianĉo estas kvar tagoj post la mia. Mi aĉetis komputilan ludon por li, 'Napoleono: Totala Milito'. Li amas legi pri historio, kaj tre ŝatas Napoleonon. Li havas ĉiom da la aliaj 'Totala Milito' ludoj: Romo: Totala Milito, Ŝoguno: Totala Milito, kaj Mezepoka: Totala Milito. Mi frue donis la ludon al li, do li povus ludi ĝin dum la Paska ferioj.

Mi ankaŭ aĉetis muzikan KD lumdiskon kaj filman diskon por li, sed mi donos ilin al li je lia naskiĝtago merkrede.

Ĉi-matene ni vidis 'Alicion en Mirlando' spektis la filmon 'Alicio en Mirlando' ĉe la kinejo. La filmo estis tre bona. Unu el la unuaj libroj mi aĉetis esti 'La Aventurojn de Alicion en Mirlando' 'La aventuroj de Alicio en Mirlando'. Mi legas ĝin ofte por ekzerci praktiki mian prononcon kaj legadon. Tamen, mi ankoraŭ ne komprenas ĝin tute.

Mi esperas ke vi havas feliĉan Paskon!

Birthdays and Easter.

Easter Sunday is tomorrow. Tomorrow is also my birthday! I will be 36 years old. My fiance's birthday is 4 days after mine. I bought him a computer game, 'Napoleon: Total War'. He loves reading about history, and really likes Napoleon. He owns all of the other Total War computer games; Rome: Total War, Shogun: Total War and Medieval: Total War. I gave the game to him early so he could play it over the Easter holidays!

I bought him a CD and DVD too, but I will give him those on his birthday, on Wednesday.

This morning we went to see Alice in Wonderland at the cinema. It was very good. One of the first Esperanto books I bought was 'La Aventuroj de Alicio en Mirlando' (The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland). I read it often to practice my pronunciation and reading. I still don't understand it all, though.

Malsano

Mi malsanas. :-(

Mi malvarmumis vendrede de la studento kiu sidas apud mi ĉe la universitato. Mi manĝas multe da supo, kaj trinkas multe da akvo. Miaj geamikoj sugestas trinki ruĝan vinon por resanigi min, sed mi ne volas trinki iun ajn alkoholon. Alkoholo kutime plaĉas al mi, do mi devas esti malsana!

Illness
I am ill. :-(

I caught cold on Friday from the student who sits next to me at university. I am eating lots of soup and drinking lots of water. My friends suggest drinking red wine to make me well again, but I don't want to drink any alcohol. I usually like alcohol so I must be ill!

Aĉeti librojn perrete

Mi ĵus pagis €49 por du novaj libroj; la nova vortaro de Wells kaj 'Being colloquial in Esperanto'. Mi mendis ilin de la UEA sed la mendaj instrukcioj estis en la Esperanto! Tre malfacila malfacile pro por mi ĉar mi estas komencanto. Mi esperas ke mi ne faris ajn erarojn iujn ajn erarojn!


Buying books online.

I just paid 49 Euro for two new books; the new Wells dictionary and 'Being colloquial in Esperanto'. I ordered them from the UEA but the order intructions were in Esperanto! Very difficult for me because I am a beginner. I hope I didn't make errors!

Esperanta pensado

Hodiaŭ mi havis mian unua sperton de pensado en Esperanta lingvo.

Mi parolis kun alia instuisto pri niaj klasoj. Mi volis peti ĉu niajn ĉambrojn estos apudaj. Mi ne povus memori kion 'apud' estis en la Angla-lingvo! Mi pensadis 'apud... apud... apud...'. Estis kelkaj minutojn antaŭ mi memoris, 'adjacent, next to, neighbouring'.

Estas bone pensi en Esperanto, sed pli bone se oni ankoraŭ povas pensi en onia unua denaska lingvo!




Esperanto thinking

Today I had my first experience of thinking in Esperanto.

I was talking with another teacher about our classes. I wanted to ask if our classrooms will be next to each other. I couldn't remember what 'next to' was in English! I kept thinking 'apud... apud... apud...'. It was a few minutes until I remembered 'adjacent, next to, neighbouring'.

It is good to think in Esperanto, but better if one can still think in one's first language!

Two Esperanto dictionaries by J.C. Wells *One is hardcover, one softcover. I have no idea how to say this in Esperanto and the dictionaries aren't helping!*
'The Esperanto Teacher' by Helen Fryer
'Alice's adventures in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll (this inspired my blog title)
'The Esperanto Language Grammar and Commentary' by Major-General George Cox (published 1906, very old!)
'Eight stories' by Arnold Bennett (another old book, published 1919)
And a Dutch language Esperanto textbook. I don't speak Dutch so I cannot translate the title!

I cannot read the books yet. One day I will be able to!
